jdrama: Celeb to Binbo Taro

celeb to binbo taro

This is different. Sort of awesome but different. To be honest I wasn't glued to my chair and I wasn't always that keen to keep watching, but this show has that catch. That one thing that won't be revealed or happen to the end so if you wanna know what's up you have to keep watching.

Which was actually okay.

Keeping watching that is, because although the show was a bit over the top and difficult at times, as well as glossing over some issues, it was fun. Simply fun. And to tell the truth I really enjoyed how the love story happened.

I also found the comparison of rich to poor interesting, if not heart breaking. And Taro relationship with his children was wonderful and touching, and the little girl was only a tad annoying otherwise completely adorable. I felt Alice's addition to the mix was glossed over a bit, the kids I felt loved her by the end but I would have appreciated seeing her put in the 'mother' role more, just because I assumed that was how it would be in the future.

On the whole, worth watching I believe, with an enjoyable and suspenseful love story. With a little age difference - which I enjoy. A family comedy and drama, something if you want to watch a little more than a bit of romance.

Premise: Wealthy daughter of a hotel chain mogul meets poor widowed father of three. Despite their vastly different values and beliefs, will their chanced encounter blossom into something more?
Genre: Comedy, romance
Status: Eleven eps.

jdrama: 1 Litre of Tears

So I'm going to start this off with saying this is the first jdrama I have watched all the way through. I've seen anime's and other Asian forms of entertainment but this is the first jdrama for me. And I think it was a good choice to start.

When looking for jdramas to watch they all seem very romance orientated and to be honest, that's not a genre that I really like, or enjoy really, or at least I can't watch something that's just romance. I need more. So this was a very good starting place for that factor.

The premise of this show is a sad one, as the title implies, Aya, a fifteen year old girl is diagnosed with an incurable disease. One that will slowly rob her of her ability to walk, talk and communicate in anyway. It is sad and will make you cry, but it is inspiring too. It is beautiful. It centers on Aya, obviously, but an essential element is her family. They are wonderful and excellent additions to the cast. They have meanings, they all have a role to play and they do it well. There is - of course - romance but it's nice. It's slow and it develops and it seems like a relationship most of us would enjoy having.

It is not perfect. It's a slow drama, and time changes suddenly, by the time the next episode is on Aya and characters have aged a year or so. It's not that it is exactly bad, there are ten episodes and time need to change the way it is done just sometimes left me with some questions and events that have happened over the time period skipped.

Premise: 15-year-old Ikeuchi Aya was an ordinary girl, the daughter of a family who works at a tofu shop, and a soon-to-be high schooler. However, odd things have been happening to Aya lately. She has been falling down often and walks strange. Her mother, Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration - a terrible disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates to the point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat. A cruel disease, as it does not affect the mind in the least. How will Aya react when told about her disease? And how will Aya live from now on?
Genre: Medical, romance, family, school
Status: Ten episodes and a special.

A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila

So I've been watching A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila (I KNOW! I JUDGE MYSELF!) and Tila is down to a boy and a girl. Don't get me wrong I think the girl, Dani, is a sweetheart and actually geniune but if Tila picks her I will be beyond shocked, I will be... whatever is beyond shocked. I know the normal perception is when a girl is bi she's usually more into guys than girls and I don't really agree with that, and I don't really like labels either but. Ok, Tila? doesn't come off as bi, not to me at least, and she is a guy's girl and I may be wrong but I just don't feel it from her and when you watch the dates it just... If she picked Dani it would shock me. Shock me.
